If you're a new parent, you're probably overwhelmed with all the decisions you need to make. Newborn photography doesn't have to be one of them. Let me guide you through the process and provide you with all the information you need to capture the early moments of your baby's life. For the past 11 years, I have been providing beautiful, natural newborn photography to families across the Twin Cities metro area. Whether from Minneapolis to St. Paul, to all of the suburbs in between, my families come to me because they are seeking gorgeous images of themselves and their babies through an experience that is relaxing and stress-free. As a veteran mom of three daughters, I know what each parent is going through and am able to approach each photo session with a sense of calm, empathy, and a reassuring heart! When my clients walk into my studio, all they need to do is show up and I take care of every detail for them. Taking away the pressure to perform or “be ready”allows them the freedom to be themselves and simply enjoy their time with their baby.

What kind of newborn photographer is best for me?
Ask yourself, what is my vision for how I want these memories preserved? What kind of experience do I want? Where do I want my session to be, in a studio where everything is prepared for me or in my home? If in my home, do I have a space with good natural light? Do I want images of my entire family with baby? How long do I want my session to be? Do I want clothing provided for me and baby? It's important to choose a photographer who specializes in newborn photography and has experience working with infants while having a certain style that matches your vision. At my studio, I have over 10 years of experience working with newborns and their families. I'm dedicated to providing a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for you and your baby. What can I expect during a newborn photography session?
During a newborn photography session, I'll work to create a comfortable and safe environment for entire family and your baby. When you first enter the studio, you will have a sense of relaxation and peace. Coffee and tea will be ready and waiting, soft music will be playing, and all of mom’s dresses will be waiting for her in the changing room, and baby’s wraps and outfits will be ready for you to select. The studio is kid friendly and designed for play! Special toys and prizes are available for big brother and sister and they are invited to have snacks and play!
The studio is light, airy and filled with light. Cozy rugs are on the floor and simple couches and chairs are available to cuddle in during the session. I will guide you through the posing process as I capture every moment. Baby and kiddos guide our session flow. There will be plenty of time for diaper changes, feedings, and snacks for big brother and sister. We will have special images of baby alone as well as with each family member. If you have any specific poses or props in mind, I'm always happy to incorporate your ideas and preferences into the session. Sessions last approximately 1 1/2 - two hours long. We take our time, take breaks when necessary, and enjoy our time celebrating your newest family member! After your session, you will receive a special client gift!
What should I bring to a newborn photo shoot?
You don't need to bring much to the session as most of the items your baby will need will be provided by the studio, including diapers and a changing table, beautiful clothing for mom and kiddos plus everything for baby, snacks for all and coffee and tea! You will receive styling for your entire family weeks prior to your session. All of the planning will be taken care so that you can just show up and relax! If you have something special like a family heirloom you would like to incorporate, bring it!
How old should baby be for a newborn photo shoot?
Newborn sessions take place when baby is between 2-6 weeks old. To capture the best moments, it's important to schedule your newborn photography session as early as possible. I recommend booking your session as soon as possible during your pregnancy to ensure availability.

How much does a newborn photo shoot cost?
The cost of your session will be dependent on what your photographer offers. Do they have a studio, client wardrobe, or hair and make up services? Photographers who offer more within their services will cost more. My collection options include both digitals and a print credit toward beautiful fine art photo books and prints! Previews are available within a week of your session and your final, beautiful gallery will come to you in approximately 4 weeks in the form of a slideshow video.
